Catcher in the Rye J.D Salinger 1945 Final getting around to a few high school classics. this one I bought for an extravagant price at Xin Hua bookshop downtown. Actually I got on to this the wrong way after watching a movie the Killing of John Lennon. Its a good book, not good enough to murder the greatest song writer of a generation but still it's good.
Yo Banfa ! Rewi Alley First Published in 1952 I managed to get a 1976 NZ-China friendship society reprint of this fascinating autobiographical book. It covers Rewi's work in China before during and after the War Revolution & Liberation One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich Alexander Solzhenitsyn ; 1963 (English translation by Ralph Parker) Another one of the high school classics that I was luck enough to get my hands on. This was the side of the story that I missed when reading all those WWII tales of the eastern front. Stalins victims in Russian
